"A hidden gem along Bishop Creek"
Bitterbrush Campground sits where Bishop Creek carves its way through the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada — a stretch of Inyo County that still feels untouched by hurry. We've been welcoming visitors for years, not because we chase trends, but because this place has something rare: genuine stillness.
Whether you arrive in an RV with a full hook-up, pitch a tent beneath the pines, or settle into one of our modest cabins, the experience is the same. The creek murmurs. The mountains hold the light long into evening. And the silence — when it arrives — is something you'll carry with you long after you leave.

Every site at Bitterbrush is placed with care — far enough from the next for privacy, close enough to the creek for company.
Spacious pull-through and back-in sites with full water and electric hookups. Each site offers creek views and generous shade from mature cottonwoods.
Nestled among pines and bitterbrush, our tent sites offer the kind of seclusion that makes morning coffee feel like a private ceremony. Fire rings and picnic tables included.
For those who want the wilderness at their doorstep and a warm bed at the end of it. Our cabins are simple, clean, and positioned for the best morning light over the creek.
Bitterbrush isn't a destination you rush through. It's a place you arrive at, settle into, and lose track of time — the way you used to before calendars had opinions about your weekends.
The creek is stocked and alive with trout. Cast a line from your site or walk a few minutes upstream to a quieter pool — the kind of spot where the only sound is water over stone.
With no streetlights and minimal light pollution, the Milky Way here isn't a photograph — it's a ceiling. Bring a blanket, lie back, and let the sky do the talking.
Trails radiate from our doorstep — from gentle creek-side strolls to ridge-line hikes with views that stretch into the White and Inyo Mountains. TheSierra doesn't rush you.
There's a particular kind of peace that comes from a crackling fire, a mug of something warm, and the sound of running water. Our fire rings are ready — bring the marshmallows.
The town of Bishop is minutes away for groceries and supplies, while Mount Whitney, Convict Lake, and the Alabama Hills offer day-trip adventures that range from easy to extraordinary.
Wake to sunlight through pines, the creek doing what it does best, and absolute quiet. No alarm clock. No agenda. Just the kind of morning that reminds you why you came.
A few glimpses into the kind of days that unfold when you slow down enough to notice them.
Bitterbrush Campground fills up during peak season — and for good reason. Once you've slept to the sound of Bishop Creek, you'll understand why. Call us to check availability and reserve your place by the water.
